Bethlehem is rooted in our weekly rhythm of worship. When we worship we join the rich tradition of the church as well as the wide company of other sinners and saints who, like us, have fed at God’s table of grace, mercy, and peace.

Bethlehem is rooted in our weekly rhythm of worship. When we worship we join the rich tradition of the church as well as the wide company of other sinners and saints who, like us, have fed at God’s table of grace, mercy, and peace.

Worship at Bethlehem follows the church calendar, which especially points us to Christ’s life, death, resurrection, and empowerment of the church to be God’s hands and feet within this world.

The church calendar starts with Advent and moves us through Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, and the fuller story of how God is at work reconciling this world.

We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday. This sacrament is an amazing gift of grace and edible reminder of the depth of God’s love for us and this world.

Music at Bethlehem

Music at Bethlehem is a meaningful way to bring us closer to God and to each other.

  • Our worship music is led primarily by piano but also includes vocal choir, bell choir, and a variety of instrumentalists
  • Once a month we have Kids Music in lieu of Sunday School
  • The BIC Music Together program (below) provides music education for children and music enrichment for elders at Bethlehem Intergenerational Center (BIC)

BIC Music Together is a ministry of Bethlehem Lutheran Church that provides intergenerational music classes for the Bethlehem Intergenerational Center.

The Music Together program provides the following for all at the Intergenerational Center:

  • Music classes taught by specialists in early childhood music education.
  • Two 30-minute classes per week, in two 15-week semesters.
  • Two school-wide family music making events a year led by Music Together teachers.
  • Two songbooks and two CDs, with 25-30 songs each for classroom and at home use.
  • Song cards for use in classroom music-making throughout the week.
  • Songbooks, CDs, and classroom teacher resources for every classroom.
  • Classroom teacher music education meetings twice a year.
  • High quality instruments and musical props used in weekly classes.
